Article of the Week: This week’s highlighted article (look for the ✦ below) is getting the award because it’s the last article in a trilogy of Employee Burnout articles by Gallup. Think of it as the 3rd Lord of the Rings movie. We also have a couple other great reads on burnout at the bottom of this newsletter – make sure you check those out too!
Happy Tuesday! This is a special post-holiday break edition of the Bugle. We hope you had a great Labor Day. Big props to Labor Unions from the late 1800s for working to get us this holiday.

Article of the Week: This week’s highlighted article (look for the ✦ below) has a bunch of great advice for a situation that wouldn’t happen if all employees had a smidgeon of empathy. We think that sums up HR pretty well. Hope you like it!

Article of the Week: This week’s highlighted article (look for the ✦ below) hit home for us because of its similarity to our mission. A parking deck owner wanted to “uplift patrons shuffling in and out of a tiresome layer-cake of parking” and, in doing so, turned a drab, boring space into something that shows patrons that management cares about their human experience. High five!
Toot toot! Happy Friday people! And welcome to the 50th (!!!) edition of the Blissbook Bugle. We hope those of you in the US had a wonderful Independence Day full of hot dogs, fireworks, and friends. For those in the UK… sorry to rub it in, but hey, there’s always the World Cup!

Article of the Week: This week’s highlighted article (look for the ✦ below) is about radical candor and is brought to you via MailChimp‘s blog. Radical candor is about being honest and direct with people, even when it’s a difficult conversation. It’s what happens when you care about someone enough to challenge them with real feedback. Just remember to be hard on content and soft on the person. Enjoy!
Happy Friday! Here’s something heartwarming for everyone in the northern hemisphere: for the next 6 months, each day will be shorter than the one before it. Womp womp. That was a downer. Article of the Week: We chose this week’s highlighted article (look for the ✦ below) because the Washington Capitals are Stanley Cup Champions and our co-founder Sam is a Caps super-fan. The article is another example of how the values that hockey players hold are great values for your employees to emulate.
Although privacy and the safeguarding of your and your employees’ personal information has been and always will be important to us, these changes were made due to the EU’s new data privacy regulations, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
It’s Friday! Here in the US, today is the kickoff to your Memorial Day weekend. While we’re here working on updating our privacy policy and terms for GDPR, you can check out the best HR, leadership, and policy management articles we put together from the last couple of weeks.
Did you know? Memorial Day was originally called Decoration Day due to the practice of decorating the graves of fallen soldiers.
