Bugle #46: You’re Awesome (Yeah You!)

A Happy Friday Tuesday Colors Day to You! OK, that isn’t a real holiday, but we’re celebrating anyways with a new update that allows you to customize all the colors in your handbook (without having us do it for you):

We apologize for the delay in getting you the best HR, leadership, and policy management articles we could find from the last couple of weeks. We think it was worth it!

✦ ✦ ✦

Article of the Week: We chose this week’s highlighted article (look for the below) because you’re awesome. Yeah, you. Remember what you used to be like? As in, right out of college? Not quite as awesome, I bet. You’ve come a long way! Keep it up!

Bugle #45: Even Dogs Want Fairness

A Happy Friday to You! We’re getting close to another release of something you’ve been asking for for a while: self-serve in-line color editing. You’ll soon be able to change the color of text and backgrounds to any color you want. Hooray!

Below is a little bit shorter than normal list of the best HR, leadership, and policy management articles we could find from the last couple of weeks.

Have a great week!

Bugle #44: The United States of Workaholics

It’s Tuesday, not Friday! We had a mini-vacation here at Blissbook so you’re getting a special mid-week Bugle. It took a couple of extra days, but we finally put together the best HR, leadership, and policy management articles we could find from the last couple of weeks.

Have a great week!

Article of the Week: This week’s highlighted article (look for the below) is highlighted because it reminds us of a great Demetri Martin joke: “Now, I’ve met many chocoholics, but I’ve never seen no chocohol. We got an epidemic, people! People who love chocolate and don’t understand the rules of word endings. They’re probably over-workaholled.” Enjoy!

Employee Wants: Career, Community & Cause

Friday is here, woo hoo! Baseball season started yesterday, so we’re in a good mood here at Blissbook HQ. Our product update from the last 2 weeks is a small one. We made it easy to send someone (legal counsel, perhaps) an individual policy for review. You can now print any version of any individual policy back to the first time you published to a PDF, making it easy to share!

We also had a chance to put together the best HR, leadership, and policy management articles we could find from the last 2 weeks.

Have a good great Friday and weekend!

Bugle #42: Are You Becoming a Bad Manager?

Happy Friday, Everyone! 🍀🏀🍀🏀🍀🏀 March madness! St. Patrick’s Day! Hopefully you have enough time to fit in the best HR, leadership, and policy management articles from the last 2 weeks.

Oh, hey, guess what? Last week we launched a new feature: Version History! You can use this to see a diff of changes that have happened to a section’s content since your handbook was first published. Now you can see who’s been messing with your policies. =)

Have a happy safe weekend!

Article of the Week: This week’s highlighted article (look for the below) is a great summary of all the little things that can add up over time to turn you into a horrible manager. It’s easy to fall into bad habits when you’re asked to contribute AND manage. Hopefully this article will get you out of your rut (or email it anonymously to your manager!).

Detailed Policy Version History Coming to Blissbook

Bugle #40: How to Hire

Happy Friday, Folks! Our February started off on a high note as our co-Founder Sam and his wife welcomed their second child into the world.

We made sure to set aside some time to put together the week’s best HR, leadership, and policy management articles for you. Lots of state lawmakers getting 2018 started with a bang – make sure you check those out so you can keep your company protected. Have a gratuitously fun weekend!

Managers are Scared to Talk to Employees

Happy February Friday! January 2018 is gone forever. That sure happened fast. Hopefully your first month was productive!

We made a few upgrades to Blissbook. The table of contents is improved, we fixed a number of bugs, the subscription flow is smoother, and your rehires are handled more elegantly. We also put together the week’s best HR, leadership, and policy management articles for you. We hope you enjoy giving these a look!

Article of the Week: This week’s highlighted article (look for the below) reminds us why underneath our Plucky company value we have “You initiate difficult conversations even when it’s a difficult topic.” Hopefully this article can help you help your employees be Plucky too!

Bugle #38: No Phones on Break!

Happy Friday Friend! 2018 – this is the year all your dreams come true! You got this. We spent the last couple of weeks polishing off everything that fell out of our new editor updates, and we also patched up some issues with handling rehired employees.

Of course we also put together the best HR, leadership, and policy management articles from the past 2 weeks. Enjoy!

Article of the Week: This week’s highlighted article (look for the below) is inspired by a recent 3-day spell sans smartphone. By the third day, I wasn’t instinctively reaching for it in those situations where you often do (like when you’re stopped at a red light that you know takes forever to turn green). It was nice to just look around instead and I promised myself I wouldn’t look at my phone at stoplights anymore. So far, so good.

Bugle #37: Getting Attention

Happy End of 2017! We can’t believe this year is over already. It’s been a marathon year for us at Blissbook. We spent most of it working on a new handbook editor, which was launched early this month to rave reviews. We’re looking forward to additions to this new foundation throughout 2018!

Are you ready for a new year’s celebration? Or will you be in bed at 9pm like we will be?

To close out the year, we compiled the best HR, leadership, and policy management articles we’ve seen over the past 2 weeks. Enjoy and be safe out there!
