Toot toot! Happy Friday people! And welcome to the 50th (!!!) edition of the Blissbook Bugle. We hope those of you in the US had a wonderful Independence Day full of hot dogs, fireworks, and friends. For those in the UK… sorry to rub it in, but hey, there’s always the World Cup!

Article of the Week: This week’s highlighted article (look for the ✦ below) is about radical candor and is brought to you via MailChimp‘s blog. Radical candor is about being honest and direct with people, even when it’s a difficult conversation. It’s what happens when you care about someone enough to challenge them with real feedback. Just remember to be hard on content and soft on the person. Enjoy!
Happy Friday! Here’s something heartwarming for everyone in the northern hemisphere: for the next 6 months, each day will be shorter than the one before it. Womp womp. That was a downer. Now let’s bring you back up with the best HR, leadership, and policy management articles from the last two weeks! Enjoy and have a terrific weekend!

Article of the Week: Whaaaaat? This week’s highlighted article (look for the ✦ below) is about HR policies??! That’s so surprising for a link article created by a company that makes policy management software. We’re as shocked as you are. Enjoy!

Article of the Week: We chose this week’s highlighted article (look for the ✦ below) because the Washington Capitals are Stanley Cup Champions and our co-founder Sam is a Caps super-fan. The article is another example of how the values that hockey players hold are great values for your employees to emulate.
Although privacy and the safeguarding of your and your employees’ personal information has been and always will be important to us, these changes were made due to the EU’s new data privacy regulations, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
It’s Friday! Here in the US, today is the kickoff to your Memorial Day weekend. While we’re here working on updating our privacy policy and terms for GDPR, you can check out the best HR, leadership, and policy management articles we put together from the last couple of weeks.
Did you know? Memorial Day was originally called Decoration Day due to the practice of decorating the graves of fallen soldiers.

Article of the Week: We chose this week’s highlighted article (look for the ✦ below) because its topic is something so simple yet so profound! A little reminder that most of the time, we are just animals following our animal brains.
A Happy FridayTuesday Colors Day to You! OK, that isn’t a real holiday, but we’re celebrating anyways with a new update that allows you to customize all the colors in your handbook (without having us do it for you):
We apologize for the delay in getting you the best HR, leadership, and policy management articles we could find from the last couple of weeks. We think it was worth it!

Article of the Week: We chose this week’s highlighted article (look for the ✦ below) because you’re awesome. Yeah, you. Remember what you used to be like? As in, right out of college? Not quite as awesome, I bet. You’ve come a long way! Keep it up!
A Happy Friday to You! We’re getting close to another release of something you’ve been asking for for a while: self-serve in-line color editing. You’ll soon be able to change the color of text and backgrounds to any color you want. Hooray!

Article of the Week: This week’s highlighted article (look for the ✦ below) is highlighted because it reminds us of a great Demetri Martin joke: “Now, I’ve met many chocoholics, but I’ve never seen no chocohol. We got an epidemic, people! People who love chocolate and don’t understand the rules of word endings. They’re probably over-workaholled.” Enjoy!
Friday is here, woo hoo! Baseball season started yesterday, so we’re in a good mood here at Blissbook HQ. Our product update from the last 2 weeks is a small one. We made it easy to send someone (legal counsel, perhaps) an individual policy for review. You can now print any version of any individual policy back to the first time you published to a PDF, making it easy to share!
We also had a chance to put together the best HR, leadership, and policy management articles we could find from the last 2 weeks.
Have a good great Friday and weekend!

Happy Friday, Everyone! 🍀🏀🍀🏀🍀🏀 March madness! St. Patrick’s Day! Hopefully you have enough time to fit in the best HR, leadership, and policy management articles from the last 2 weeks.
Oh, hey, guess what? Last week we launched a new feature: Version History! You can use this to see a diff of changes that have happened to a section’s content since your handbook was first published. Now you can see who’s been messing with your policies. =)
Have a happy safe weekend!

Article of the Week: This week’s highlighted article (look for the ✦ below) is a great summary of all the little things that can add up over time to turn you into a horrible manager. It’s easy to fall into bad habits when you’re asked to contribute AND manage. Hopefully this article will get you out of your rut (or email it anonymously to your manager!).
